Easter has always been one of my favorite holidays. Even as a kid, I remember the excitement each Spring when the flowers started to bloom and we would get to wear fancy Easter bonnets and dresses to church.

But one of the MOST exciting things about Easter as a kid was definitely the egg hunts and fun Easter goodies we would get in our baskets.

That’s why as a parent now, I am always looking for fun ways to decorate and fill up Easter baskets for my own kids. Even when it’s baby’s very first Easter!

To make baby’s first Easter just as exciting as for our older kids I’m sharing some of the best and practical goodies parents can use to create that little basket — these ideas consist of things that mom or dad already need or plan to buy for baby, so it’s not just wasteful spending on dollar-store toys.

Snacks, Toys and Gifts for Baby’s Basket

If your baby is over 6 months, snacks make an easy option for filling up those baskets. Of course most of us prefer to skip all those sugary sweets and chocolates that tend to fill older kids’ baskets. Because after all, these goodies are for baby ;). Below are a few candy-alternative snacks you may want to include:

If you’re little one is closer to age 1, a homemade or organic lolly isn’t terrible though ;)!

You can also fill baby’s Easter basket with some essential feeding supplies you already intend to stock up on like:

  • Spoons
  • Bowls
  • Sippy Cups

We like to choose BPA-free options whenever possible as these are safest for babies and little ones!

For toys, teethers, board books and things that offer sensory exploration always make a great choice, below are some of our favorites.

Then of course, what Easter basket is complete, without a few accessories babies can wear on the big day!

Most of the time, you’re already planning on getting these things to compliment baby’s Easter clothes, so they aren’t an added expense and can just be an easy choice for filling up that basket.

Finally, it’s always nice to add some of those everyday baby essentials that you will be sure to use at some point when changing or grooming baby. All of the below are quick and easy ideas!

  • Travel-size wipe case
  • Diaper wipes
  • Boogie wipes
  • Face wipes
  • Baby lotion
  • Aquaphor
  • Baby brush

Looking for more ways to have fun with baby on Easter? Try novelty gifts or silly sunglasses, bunny ears or bunny pacifier teeth for some even more fun you will surely want to document!
